My earliest known ancestors were miners and farm labourers in 16th century Cornwall. In the 18th century one enterprising Dunstan moved to Lancashire and started a whole new way of life. Feel free to browse the family tree and let me know if you recognise anyone.

If you are related in any way to John Dunstan (Constable of Chester Castle from 1822 to 1837) I would be delighted to hear from you (although chances are that I know you already!).

The header illustration is from an engraving of the north west view of Chester Castle made in 1726 by Samuel & Nathaniel Buck.
